FUNNY HA...HA!

Last night I did my duty & met up with an friend for a drink & a show. The drink ended up being 3 Irish Coffee's, which seemed to amuse the frat boys drinking their Heineken Light at the table next to us. While the show was "Cooking Light with Miss Bernadette" at Donny's Skybox which was less than a handful of laughs and that was more to do with the fact I know the writer/performer, then to do with the skill & wit of the show itself. I have seen all of this artist's shows at Donny's Skybox and while there were some real gems in this, for the most part it was missing fully developed jokes and less than impressive delivery. Again, we are entertained (loosely used here) to video projections (becoming a trademark for this artist) of previous students testimonials of the many classes taught at Upper Falls Community Center, the setting for our improvement. Unfortunately, we not only have a pillar partially blocking the (electrician's) taped up screen, we also have to suffer the terrible video lighting and repetition of actors/friends who are playing multiple different characters...yet again. Have you not heard of Craig's List? Of course this might be excusable, if it were not for the girlfriend bopping away to herself in a technician's lab coat, manning the projector. All that said, I think if he took the time to sit down and go over the scenes, a great comedy sketch show could be created. Oh & if you're going to dress like a woman, change your shoes!
