I step up, into the bus and use my Upass

Beep! Beep! Beep! Error

(D)river "This card is hot"

(M)oi "Excuse me, what does that mean?"

D "There's something wrong with this card"

M "I don't understand. I got this card through my school"

D "The card is coming up hot. That means something ain't right with it"

M "I go to school. I paid for the card"

D Saying nothing, leans over and checks the display on the card reader again

M "So what do we do about it?"

D "I should confiscate it. Can you pay another way?"

Holding onto the Upass, I reach into my pocket, take my wallet and tap it against the card reader

Beep! Accepted

M "I guess I'll ask my school what's up"

D has already forgotten M is there
